There are many terms in the Moodle and Joule Gradebooks that may be unfamiliar to the newcomer. This Glossary contains vocabulary that is specific to the Gradebook. If you come across a term throughout the course that you don't understand, the best place to check for a definition is here in the glossary.

Letters (tab)

Create a lettering system for your course.

Lock (icon)

Locking can occur for an activity of the course or for an individual student. When marked as locked a Moodle module or instructor can no longer update the grade. When the grade is unlocked, activities will resend the latest grades.

Lowest Grade

Moodle's Lowest Grade aggregation method takes the smallest grade after normalization and uses it for the category total. It is typically used in combination with the Aggregate only non-empty grades functionality.
