Before you get started
Before you begin configuring your gradebook, you should basically have your entire course and its content planned out. Complete these steps before you ever enter the Gradebook:
- Storyboard all course activities: Design activities and decide how many assignments, forums, lessons, quizzes, and other graded items there will be in your course.
- Decide on activity points: Choose how many points each graded item in the course will count for. Also, decide if scales other than the typical 1-100 point Moodle scale should be used.
- Create a gradebook mockup: After choosing how you want to organise and aggregate all of your activities, create a quick mockup. This can easily be done in Microsoft Word or another word processing tool, with an outline format.
